Waking up in an unfamiliar room was definitely not one of my expectations after drowning at sea, inside a ship.
I feel a bit heavy and managed to get up until flashes of memories entered my mind in but a single breath.
Pain made me grasp my head.
I wanted to shout, but no sound came, as 6 years' worth of memories were forcibly stuffed into my head.
Memories that definitely weren't mine but of this body I now occupy, or for the lack of better words, I now own?
I am not sure. The feeling of taking over a body isn't there. What do I feel?
It's like it was me from the moment I was formed and got out of my mother's womb; it was me since day 1.
It simply seems like my mind was hibernating, waiting for the right time to wake up; in my case, I would now be a 6-year-old.
I got off the bed and looked at myself in the mirror.
I see a normal kid in his light blue pajamas.
Brown messy hair, sea green eyes, and my worst enemy from last life.
I'm fat!
Hopefully, it's just baby fat that I will lose soon.
As I remember it, I come from a civilian family of 3.
My father is a humble baker, while my mother is a nurse at the Konoha hospital.
Which means I get to spend a lot more time with my father in his bakery shop than with my mother, who always seems to be busy every day.
The only times I get to spend with her are when she's on her rest day or she's on leave.
After knowing all that, I was satisfied with it.
However...
That wasn't the only information I got.
There was an attack from the nine-tailed demon fox 4 years ago, which caused a lot of casualties.
And that was the moment I realized I was fucked!.

I waited.
And waited.
And prayed.
And wait again.
But a month has passed, and there was no sign of any cheat or golden finger or even the OP system of any kind.
I lived as I would have while waiting, anyway, I didn't have to pretend to be someone else because before my "True Awakening", the me before acted as I would have acted if I weren't in "Hibernation".
Since there was no cheat for me in this world, it would mean that once again, I will be but a speck of dust in the grand scheme of things, just like last time.

Evening, Dinner
"Dad, I want to go to the Library tomorrow," I stated.
"Hmm?" surprised by my sudden request, father looked at me and asked.
"Why?"
"I want to know about shinobi." The moment I said those words, my father's mood turned serious.
"Osamu." He called my name. By the way, my father's name is Hideyoshi, while my mother's name is Himiko.
"I told you before, our family is of civilian roots. Not one from your mother's side or mine became shinobi." He said that to me before, when I told him I wanted to be one, when I was still in 'Hibernation'.
I didn't answer and simply looked at my father's eyes seriously.
A sigh escapes his lips a moment later.
"Fine, but you will have to go alone since I will be busy at the shop tomorrow. Think you can go there alone?" He challenged.
"Thank you, father! You're the best!" I answered excitedly and hugged him, but looking at his helpless expression, it seemed like my reply was not what he had expected.
Anyway, tomorrow I get to go to the Konoha library, which is open for every Konoha resident.
And with that in mind, I slept early.

Before my father went to work, he bombarded me with a lot of warnings about what to do and what not to do.
The normal parent worrying stuff. Anyway, it was okay to let me go alone since, according to him, Konoha is safe with all the Uchiha Police patrolling around.

I didn't encounter any problems upon entering since I could already read and write.
Even the receptionist was kind enough to volunteer to guide me, but I declined and simply scanned the books available.
It ranges from advanced medical knowledge to self-help books about social interaction.

I've read the book.
And I spent a lot of time, but still didn't finish it in 6 hours.

Fucking authors saying they've read the books for a few hours only.
I've been here so early in the morning, and now it's lunchtime, but I still haven't reached the middle part of the damn book.
I've learn that to learn medical ninjutsu, one needs precise, if not perfect, control of his/her chakra.
One of my current problems.
How do I access my chakra?
I know I have some, like all living beings in this Shinobi world, also have chakra. One simply needs to be able to access it, refine, and mold it to any Jutsu that you learned or want.
The book does not teach how to access the chakra because it already assumes one has already accessed it.
The main prerequisite was perfect control of the chakra. Which is why the book is for beginners.
For lunch, I went to my father's shop and ate there.
"So, how was the library, son? Found something interesting?"
"Yeah, I did, that's why I only came now."
"That's good. I won't ask what it's about, so let's eat lunch."
"Okay!"
Father is probably not interested since all the books in the library do not have any connections to Shinobi. Well, not entirely.
I will probably be able to access those things related to Shinobi right in the Konoha Archive Library, which is located near the Hokage Rocks.
Anyway, finishing my lunch, I went to the library once again to read the book for beginners.
Time passed, and I only finished it at lunch the next day.
The additional knowledge I learned contains the practices I knew from the show.
How to train chakra control.
From sticking leaves around your body, preferably the forehead, in the beginning, up until walking on water.
I don't have eidetic memory or any of that shit, but I remember it quite well.
But just to be on the safe side, I did write some notes that would make me review it all at once.
Besides chakra control, it also provided the hand seals for performing the healing technique.
If you're thinking about the mystical palm technique, then you're wrong. Mystical palm is another thing, but the healing technique is a basic medical Jutsu where, instead of green light, a white light is gathered into the medical Ninja's hands, which he/she moves around the injured areas of the patient.
And lastly, you can't perform the healing technique if you don't have any knowledge of the human anatomy or any poisons or even medicinal herbs.
It took me a week to finish reading the referenced books and write down key pointers I needed so I won't have to return to the library.
I also tried to ask the receptionist if there were any books about chakra refining, but got a negative answer.
It seems those things can only be accessed in the library of the Shinobi clans. Even the Konoha archive library doesn't have those kinds of books, it seems.
