Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Making a friend I

As Akio travelled all the way back to his village, he swiftly arrived at his residence before sneaking into his room.

With his new stats, he found maneuvering extremely easy so he had managed to get there undetected. It also seems that his 'parents' were still asleep.

Akio first got comfortable into his futon before summoning his system. Then, Akio pressed some buttons mentally before his vision faded to black.

...

...

...

Akio's eyes slowly opened as he looked around. He was met with a familiar scenery, that was his comfortable, holy sanctum: his bedroom.

"I've returned!" Akio muttered, as he stared at his smaller hands. He was once again in his original, pre-teen body.

"I had been in that world for around 6 days in total. I've been hunting demons for 3 days so, 3 hours would have probably passed by now." Akio contemplated.

Akio confirmed this by looking out of his window: which was pitch-black.

"It's midnight." Akio mumbled.

13 days had past in total since Akio got his system. When Akio hops world, time changes in both of them which means if he spends 24 hours in the fictional world, only an hour passes here. The same also applies for this world: if he spends 24 hours here, an hour passes in the other world.

Akio had also tested his inventory and learnt it was extremely convenient. He could essentially take items from one world to another, though he guessed any items from his system wouldn't work due to the format of character hop.

He had managed to buy some wisteria by masterfully begging his mom before he went and began his hunt for demons. Then, he had used whatever he could find in the kitchen to make the liquid. As for the vials... he stole some from his science class.

"Yawn. Why am I so tired!" Akio mumbled. "My vitality is much better, but it seems sleep has to do more with the brain or maybe even spiritually?" Akio guessed.

"My throat is also really dry. I'm gonna go downstairs..." Akio decided to get some water. After he had invested his stats and had every single organ, bone and blood reach extreme temperatures, Akio's mind was definitely spent trying to endure the torturous pain.

Akio opened his door before steadily going downstairs–making sure he made as little of a noise as possible.

After arriving at the kitchen, Akio helped himself with a glass of water.

Akio practically inhaled it as it disappeared within a second before he helped himself with a few more cups.

"Refreshing!" Akio sighed in relief.

After Akio had done that, he quietly went back upstairs and went to sleep.

...

...

...

It was morning.

Akio was currently on his way to school, casually basking in the nice sunny weather as he walked.

Akio managed to notice someone familiar just ahead of him: going at the same direction.

"Hm? Isn't that Nishimiya?" Akio muttered.

He had barely interacted with this girl since she's transferred to his school. Though, she didn't seem like a bad person, and personally, Akio had a good impression on her.

Akio simply paid no mind as he continued to walk. It wasn't long before he had managed to catch up to her at a traffic light: with both of them waiting.

Shouko noticed Akio as she gave him a gentle smile.

"Morning, Nishimiya." Akio returned her greeting.

This was why Akio had a good impression on her. Unlike most people, she didn't judge Akio's appearance. And, Akio has noticed that she probably knows the rumours about him, yet still didn't come to conclusions.

Akio likes woman with big 'assets'. However, he does have a soft spot for woman that are 'pure of heart'.

Once the traffic light gave the signal, Akio crossed the road.

Seeing a classmate whilst walking to school, Shouko wanted to walk with Akio. So, she tried her best to keep up with him: increasing her pace. However, due to Akio's inhuman physical stats, it proved rather difficult.

"Hm?"

Akio noticed that Shouko seemed to be trying to keep up with him, almost jogging. Seeing how hard she was trying, Akio felt a little bad so he simply slowed down.

After a moment, Shouko had managed to catch up with Akio: a droplet of sweat running down her forehead.

Shouko used some sign language to show her gratitude and asked if she could walk with him.

"Sorry, I don't know any sign language." Akio spoke, though he could guess what she wanted to say. "But, sure. You can walk with me." He said whilst giving a small smile.

Akio's response made Shouko visibly happy as she gave a light bow, before they both went to school together.
