Chapter 219 - Two Hundred Nineteenth

She stared at him, a fresh wave of disbelief washing over her. They were fugitives, being hunted through a network of dangerous, forgotten tunnels by who-knows-what, and he was just... sitting down. As if he'd decided to take a leisurely break in a park.

"Are you insane?" she finally asked, the words bursting out of her, a strangled mix of frustration and terror. "The whole point was to not get caught, wasn't it? Why are we stopping?"

He didn't look at her. He just leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, and ran a hand through his fiery orange hair. "Patience is a virtue, babe. One you seem to be in short supply of." He sounded tired, but also...annoyed. "The south docks are crawling with wardens right now. My contact's message said the tide's not in my favor. We wait for the tide to turn, and for the patrols to thin. Or we get caught. Your choice."

He held up a finger.

"Any choice but waiting will be ignored." He said.
