After talking with Lilia and Veronica, I figured it was about time to have a proper conversation with some of the soldiers that the Kingdom of Bethlan had sent over to assist us. Most of them happened to be the very same people who had attacked me back then, which made the whole situation feel a little ironic now that I actually stopped to think about it. Looking back on those events, it almost felt like we had skipped several chapters of our lives and suddenly ended up fighting on the same side.
Life really had a funny way of throwing people together when they least expected it.
Putting all of that history aside, though, they were valuable resources. Having more experienced soldiers on our side was never a bad thing, especially when a full-scale war was right around the corner. They had plenty of combat experience, and I had little doubt that they would prove incredibly useful once the real battlefield started demanding everything we had.
