I woke up feeling something surprisingly comfortable pressed against me.
It wasn't exactly the warmth of a woman's body, but whatever it was, it had managed to keep me warm throughout the night. The feeling was pleasant enough that it took me a few extra moments before I even considered opening my eyes.
The Demon Continent had some seriously strange weather.
One day, the nights would be warm enough that sleeping outside wouldn't be much of a problem. Then, without any warning, the temperature could swing in the complete opposite direction. Sometimes it became so hot that it felt like the entire continent had been left under a giant magnifying glass. Other times, the cold became intense enough that it felt like it could freeze someone solid if they weren't prepared.
Honestly, this place wasn't exactly designed for people who liked comfort.
Or sanity, for that matter.
Slowly, I opened my eyes.
The first thing I noticed was that a blanket had been draped over me.
