Leon's POV
There had been something quietly spreading around the Kingdom lately. It wasn't war, it wasn't politics, and it wasn't even crime in the usual sense. What people kept bringing up was the existence of an ever-growing cult.
The Kingdom itself wasn't particularly strict when it came to beliefs. People weren't punished for following something other than the Goddess Jeanne, and that alone gave them a sense of freedom that most places didn't offer. You could believe in whatever you wanted, pray to whoever you felt like, and as long as you weren't causing trouble, no one would drag you into a cell for it. Even the church, despite its influence, was surprisingly lenient about that fact. They didn't push too hard, didn't force conversions, and didn't go hunting for heretics just for existing.
Still, this situation felt… different.
For some reason, this particular cult had started making itself known, and people were beginning to notice.
