Across the Yala Moat from the Ikelite Crown Group, in the city center commercial district of Ikelite North District, stands the Ikelite Opera House.
It is located at Penny's Point in Yara Port, adjacent to the Yara River Port Bridge, occupying an area of approximately 1.9 hectares.
Adopting a modernist style and innovative shell-shaped roof design, the entire complex is composed of large triangular concrete "shells" and glass curtain walls, resembling a set of raised sails, grand and imposing. The impact and imagination left on the building are regarded as an outstanding example of expressionist architecture.
