Once the wily hare is dead, the hunting dog is cooked. After the South State issue was resolved, due to matters in the West Wilderness, The Seventh Immortal Emperor hadn't dealt with Basil Jaak yet. Instead, he pretended to want to ennoble Basil Jaak as a reward, while it was just a ruse of feigned retreat.
However, if the issue in the West Wilderness were entirely resolved, The Seventh Immortal Emperor would likely take action against him, this civilian general.
Though on the decree, The Seventh Immortal Emperor seemed implicitly to tell Basil Jaak that once he completed the mission and completely crushed the Black Tortoise faction, he would surely be ennobled as Marquis Jaak.
