When Basil Jaak and Gergary appeared in the registration room, the white-bearded registration elder was startled.
He sized up Basil Jaak and Gergary, and a mocking smile immediately appeared on his face: "So, you two reckless lads, finally realizing the consequences of not listening to the wise?"
The registration elder, seeing that the two had returned early and appeared uninjured, assumed they had realized the difficulty of the first task and thus had not gone to the Sea of the Demon Clan but instead returned to cancel the mission.
Seeing the elder's gleeful expression and hearing the mocking laughter of the curious disciples gathering around, Basil Jaak and Gergary both grinned but said nothing.
"What's the matter? Tongues tied now? Ha! Just a few days ago, two cocky lads were boasting about completing the mission. Ha! Giving up so quickly? Where's your spirit? Weren't you fearless? What's this—turning into scaredy-cats now?"
