If anyone saw her in this condition, they might guess she was having a premature birth. Her plan would then be difficult to carry out. She couldn't let anyone find out.
Clenching her teeth, she controlled herself to hide any sign of pain. Acting as if everything was normal, her face showed indifference as she forced herself to walk slowly out.
Dr. K watched her endure the pain while insisting on doing this. He felt helpless but understood the danger of her situation, so he, too, pretended not to notice anything.
Once she got into the car and the door closed, Ye Lu collapsed into the seat.
Her breathing was rapid. She clutched her stomach with both hands, her face filled with agony.
"Drive quickly," Dr. K ordered the driver.
The car sped off. Ye Lu turned her head, staring blankly out the window as the sight of the café disappeared. Her heart ached.
He didn't come. She waited for him, but he still didn't come.
Finally, a silent tear slid down the corner of her eye.
