[Nagisa: POV]
It was quiet, not an eerie silence that would put one on guard but the type of silence where I felt like I finally had a moment of peace.
As for Nagisa?
He stood atop a mountain of over more than a hundred corpses of humanoid insect type monsters his face showing a madly satisfied smile.
Seeing the countless ugly insects no longer disgusted me, well it still churned my stomach but that couldn't be helped.
After slaughtering the monsters though I felt free, even if I still felt repulsed at least knowing I didn't need to engage them for more than a single strike brought me peace.
It was calm.
All the eggs had hatched and birthed monsters and now there were no more mobs to worry about when facing the boss later on.
Suddenly, it felt like a good idea that I mentioned splitting up.
It's good if we can just focus on the boss, minions are too troublesome to face while fighting a boss.
Even if I was sure most minions wouldn't be a threat to the current me, they could still stall for time or distract me allowing the boss to inflict damage.
As for depending on Camilla, at most she could tie up a single one of these monsters but it was impossible to defeat unless she risked injury for injury.
I had tweaked her body to resemble the composition of a human but I still left some things intact.
One of the inherent ability of the ghoul, [Pain Nullification] and [No life].
For some reason these skills didn't seem to show up on her status, but Nagisa could sense as the one who recreated her that they were there.
Matter of a fact, as his creation above 70%, he could even borrow these skills if he wanted so they still existed.
Pain nullification was obvious by its name but it mainly dulled any sense of pain. As for No life?
It removed any concept of death by aging or natural means from Camilla and also gave her an endless stamina.
So, if she decided to sacrifice a few body parts she could definitely overcome one or two of these monsters but that was her limit.
Taking care of them now removed any potential of tangling with mobs during the boss fight so this was a positive result.
Come to think of it, why did Camilla not yet contact Nagisa?
Did she truly not meet any monsters on the other side? If that was the case she might even have fallen asleep, careless fellow.
I should scold her when we meetup later.
More importantly-
[Why is this path filled with so many monsters?]
Was it the boss's breeding lair?
Nagisa didn't feel like he had fought the boss yet.
First of all, even the monsters among those that came earlier, the highest level was 205. A boss having such a low level?
Yeah right.
In any case, if I defeated the boss a message saying I cleared the floor should have popped up already.
And this he concluded that he had yet to defeat the boss.
Maybe Camilla wasn't actually sleep on the other path but was tangled up with the boss?

If she did face danger it might be an opportunity to grow so let it simmer a bit.
So I searched for a while but found nothing, not even the boss.
But, there was no use looking. This was the boss's domain and if it wanted to come out it would have long showed itself.
Perhaps they needed to fulfill some conditions or maybe Camilla really was facing it on the other side.
The connection was still present with her soul so she should still be alive at least so there was no need to worry.
Even if she was in danger, as long as she called the connection would warn Nagisa of her predicament and he would rush over.
As for the boss, let's just take it a step at a time and defeat it when it came.

Suddenly there was impact on my head and I unconsciously tapped my head brushing whatever it was out and saw a pebble fall to the ground.
A pebble?
Way would a pebble suddenly fall down?
It wasn't like I didn't know the sturdiness of this dungeon by now. Every floor was at least ten times sturdier than the last and seemed to be created of some divine material.
So it was baffling that a pebble fell for no reason.
So, I glanced up-
The hell!
I hurriedly dashed away as the ceiling gave way and large chunks of stone fell with a crash.
It only started there as the ceiling gradually collapsed inward.
I was stunned.
No, even though my strength had increased I didn't even give half my strength in the previous battle.
Then, how could it collapse the ceiling?
It didn't make sense, unless-
There is something up there!
My eyes lit up in anticipation at the thought.
Indeed, the dungeons ceiling, wouldn't just collapse from that. As proof, even the marks of my sword left in the walls and floors although deep didn't seem to do any significant damage to the surroundings.
Not to mention the dungeon was already repairing itself.
So what was different about here? It was obvious!
A hidden passage!
Now I had a choice.
One, turn back.
Two, continue forward brave warrior!
It was a difficult choice, but-

What about hesitation? No! None needed here buddy!
Perhaps he was just being careless entering an unknown passage so easily, but having been cooped up in the dungeon for so long facing monsters day in and day out the only thing he had to look forward to was finding precious materials.
It definitely wasn't greed.

Flashing his forelocks like an arrogant ikemen, he tore the ceiling open with another strike.

The future of escaping this dungeon and living a rich life kept replaying itself in my mind.
All forms of logic had far long jumped through the open window and he was only left with a delusion of living as a rich man in another world.
As for a trap being present? Bring it on!

Yes, he was indeed forgetting something important. At this moment, his first precious companion in this world was fighting a death battle with a monster.
Yet, all other thoughts slipped his mind the moment he found this secret area.
In any case, they were connected so he could instantly know if something was wrong so he didn't even bother considering Camilla a concern.
