Chapter 86 - Chapter(80)

Episode(80) Playful but deadly, So that's the catch!

SOVEREIGN OF DEATH~(80)

[How about not being so persistent!?]

Clasping the incoming blade with all his might was really all Nagisa could do.

What, did this guy go to the underworld and het steroids or something?

He was baffled why this guy had gotten so much stronger than before.

[I have a deal worthy of considering human! Die and become the bones at my feet!]

[BS! Why don't you flip the script and be a stepping stone instead?]

Kh!

Damn! Seriously what the hell!

Before, Nagisa could say he was at least slightly superior in terms of strength. However now, it was taking all he had to keep the blade from descending and splitting him in half.

Not good, I have to find a way out!

But no solution came.

He had to devote all his attention to the strength in his arms in order to prevent the blades descent. As for using mana? He didn't dare split his attention to think about activating it.

Kuh!

[Wha...what the heck did you do!? You weren't...this strong...before!]

What kind of broken skill literally resurrected this monster and gave him extra beef!

Did you go snacking in the afterlife?!

Even his own 'Reluctant', it didn't bring him back from the dead it just prevented him from suffering killing blows and improved his regeneration whenever he was close to dying.

So for Nagisa unless you could crush his heart and brain at the same time there was no true death.

Still it didn't increase his power every time he was almost killed.

At most that would depend on his own body becoming stronger after suffering a beating.

[Kakaka! Human have ye heard of the pheonix?]

What now?!

He was already annoyed with the current situation, now this bastard was yapping about some stupid bird!

What, question and answer? How ridiculous!

But Yagar didn't care about his irritation and instead continued.

[The mythical bird pheonix, immortal bird, unkillable! A creature with many labels, but none is unfounded as the pheonix has the power to rise from ashes and be reborn anew!-]

Crack!

As he spoke even more strength was added into the axe forcing Nagisa's back deeper into a crater.

[I Yagar became champion of trolls because mine own abilities are similar!]

[Die once and be reborn with strength even more powerful than ever!]

More and more force was applied to the axe pressuring Nagisa making him feel this guy was just overdosing on chicken blood!

His face turned paled.

If he was split in half then his heart and brain would be split as well and no matter if he had a mountainous will or monstrous amount of mana then even reluctant couldn't save him.

[Damn! Damn it! Sh*t! Sh*t!]

His arms gradually became wobbly and lost strength. In any moment he'd either run out of adrenaline or his arms would probably snap due to the force he was facing.

Even so he was lost.

In this situation how could he fight back?

Going for my sword means freeing one hand. Am I fast enough to draw my sword before getting split in two?

Looking at the sharp blade close enough to give a dying kiss he doubted it.

So magic then?

No, it really took all his concentration to bring out his strength to resist the force of the axe.

If I wanted to overcome the current predicament I'd need something with a lot of power and that required a portion of my focus. Breaking focus from my muscles now would only spell one word, death!

Damn!

No matter what move I make the outcome won't be pretty.

Huh? Wait!

That wasn't right!

Magic didn't need to be anything grand or powerful!

With an overabundance of mana and the precise control he was gifted with, Nagisa always thought that all his magic must be used in a powerful way.

In any case, with his mana recovery he really didn't care about output at all.

But was that all to magic? Of course not!

Right, there was even that in some novels right? Daily Magic!

From his slight memory of some novels he skimmed through, there were protagonists that used even daily magic in lethal ways.

That was right, what was needed now wasn't powerful magic but a way to ease the pressure.

A thought came to mind instantly. Just like how one would slip on ice, he thought about all the times he'd used hopeless and the sensation he felt from the ice element.

Well, here goes nothing!

Fuu!

Releasing a breath, Nagisa only diverted a tiny bit of mana throughout his body letting it seep into the atmosphere.

With 'Master', recalling the sensation brought by using Ice magic was simple work.

Below him, starting at the crater as the center the ground began to freeze over.

Yagar, didn't notice at first. All his attention was focused on applying more strength to his axe.

[Agggghhh!]

He had to admit, he had become stronger yet this human was still able to just barely resist making killing him that much harder.

Still, hanging on like a cockroach could only last so long!

Slip!

Suddenly, he lost balance and one of his feet slid to the side.

It was a small slide, Yagar only thought the ground beneath him gave way but soon he lost his balance and realized something was wrong.

But it was too late.

Now!

A sharp glint appeared in Nagisa's eyes as he felt the force lighten.

[GAAAH!]

He acted instantly and pushed back against the axe before Yagar could no longer force him down due to his lost balance.

He then released the blade judging it was perfect time and rolled away.

Crash!

The blade of the axe crashed into the frozen ground splitting it apart and creating chunks of earth.

At the side, Nagisa didn't rest after getting away.

[Ice javelin!!]

Snowflakes gathered forming three huge and sharp javelins behind Nagisa.

He wasn't done, he flashed a hand towards the trolls direction creating uneven terrain. With the addition of the frost covered ground, Yagar had no way of holding his balance.

[Gaaah!!]

A shriek of panic and anger left his mouth.

Nagisa stood up with a chuckle, his labored breathing calming down and spoke.

[Don't be so excited, we're just getting started]

As his left hand motioned, the ice javelins behind him began to spin like drills.

At first it was slow, but as they sped up it seemed like the javelins weren't spinning anymore. However, they were indeed spinning.

It was just at a speed no one could see properly and this was sure to cause damage if it hit an opponent!

[Now! You oversized bastard, you can go to hell!]

Shuu!

Boom!

The three flew breaking the sound barrier arriving before the troll in mere seconds.

Disregarding his crumbling posture, Yagar place a hand to the ground and used his strength to dig through the layer of ice into the ground in order to hold himself in place.

He then forcefully grabbed the axe desperately slashing an ice javelin.

But it was futile. Thanks to its rotation speed, even with the shockwave being applied to Yagar's weapon the moment he struck the javelin it exploded into ice fragments and the fore sent his arm back crumbling his already unstable posture.

There wasn't even time to react to the two remaining attacks.

Thankfully however, his failing posture helped him to avoid one ice javelin while the other just dug through his side.

The wound was deep, but it was one he could survive.

Sh*t!

Nagisa cursed.

I wanted this to end with that bastard being skewered but I guess that's off the table now.

To begin with, I'm worried he can even revive a second time. There has to be some conditions for a revival right?

Whatever it is, I've gotta end him before he can fulfill it again!

It was time to go all out!

Mana surged out of his body like a tide converging into different elements, ice, water and darkness.

He glared at Yagar who was also breathing raggedly while slowly getting to his feet.

[Die, scum!]

Weapons formed of mana, sword, spears, hammers all descended like a volley of arrows.

However unlike before, Yagar seemed prepared.

He stood up forcefully, while holding his axe he pun it into a fan shape.

Nagisa recoiled.

Damn! You can even do this?

It was the first time he was seeing this done in reality, but then again this was a fantasy world.

Still, even if it did that the attacks that came from the side and back were unavoidable leaving it covered in blood.

Just as the rain of attacks ended and Yagar was prepared to rest, a figure flashed before him.

A kick filled with mana spun and hit the giants chin.

Boom!

A shockwave blasted through the air and Yagar's body lifted off the ground.

Yagar felt his brain fuzzy for a second.

However on instinct he still swung the axe towards the airborne Nagisa before he completely fell.

Mere millimeters away from slicing Nagisa in half, Nagisa moved with near ghost like effeciency.

As if it was all in slow motion, Nagisa placed a hand against the flat of the blade and used the momentum to twist his body.

He then formed footholds made of ice as his blurry figured stepped through the air at a blinding speed.

With a final leap he drew down an arc cutting deep beyond flesh and bone opening a deep laceration from the chest straight down to the waist.

Landing, his feet slid against the ground and he turned with practiced ease while shouldering the sword and gazing condescendingly at Yagar.

[Your wounds aren't healing any more, I guess that's it huh?]

Nagisa had figured it out. It wasn't hard to notice.

Looking closer, the wound from earlier where the javelin drilled a hole in his side had only healed halfway.

Watching Yagar struggle to get up, Nagisa then thought of something and laughed.

[So that's what it is?!]

Yagar was noncommittal. How could a human know the secret to his power?

But-

[I'm guessing you revived and gained a power upgrade physically but your recovery must have weakened to the point it's almost useless right?]

Yagar paused, then his face twisted.

Nagisa had found out its secret and it was in danger of dying!

I still can't tell if this guy can revive infinitely or if there is a limited number of times-

Still, he swung the sword and pointed it at Yagar.

[If I kill you fast enough it shouldn't be an issue]

He chuckled.

However the look in his eyes was far from playful but deadly!

[Human!]
