"Forget it! I'm not falling for that trick. Go back to school!
Once your grades actually pass, then we'll talk about this again!"
Orochimaru training Sasuke? That's a teacher guiding his student.
And you? What are you sticking your nose in for?
Go cool off somewhere else.
"I'm not leaving! If you don't agree, I'll just stay here forever."
Naruto didn't hesitate. He lay down on the ground right away.
Basically, if you don't say yes, I'm not going anywhere.
Shizune: "....."
Why does Naruto look like a mini version of Jiraiya-sama?
"....."
Tsunade couldn't stand watching Naruto roll around and throw a tantrum. She had to hold back the urge to punch him and told Shizune to take him to see Yan.
Since this whole mess was Yan's fault, he should be the one to deal with it.
If he hadn't pushed Sasuke toward Orochimaru, Naruto wouldn't be here making a scene.
He can figure out the next steps himself.
I don't have the time.
I'm already swamped with work. Where am I supposed to find time to train Naruto?
Hearing that he was going to Yan for a solution, Naruto finally stopped throwing a fit. He obediently got up and followed Shizune out.
When they arrived outside Yan's office, Shizune knocked on the door.
The door opened quickly, and Izumi poked her head out, curious.
When she saw Shizune, she immediately smiled.
"Shizune, are you here to see the Elder?"
"Huh? Naruto's here too?"
"Don't even ask. This kid went to the Hokage's office and threw a tantrum. Hokage-sama told me to bring him here so Yan could deal with it."
In private, Shizune and Izumi didn't speak so formally when talking about Yan.
"Come in first. The Elder is reviewing some documents. He might have time in a bit."
Izumi stepped aside, letting them in. Shizune led Naruto into the office.
Inside, Yan was busy reading papers and didn't have time to look at them yet.
His office wasn't far from Tsunade's, so he had already heard the commotion over there.
As for Naruto… he really didn't know what to say.
The main problem was that there was no one in the village fit to train Naruto.
For someone like Naruto, only Jiraiya was up to the task.
If they handed him over to Orochimaru instead, Orochimaru's blood pressure would probably skyrocket in frustration.
Give Naruto a ninjutsu scroll, and he'd struggle to read it. He also couldn't grasp the basic principles of ninjutsu.
A student like him would be a nightmare for just about any teacher.
Jiraiya was able to train Naruto because, in the past, he had been just like him.
Having been through the same struggles, Jiraiya had the experience to guide Naruto properly and give him the training he needed.
Jiraiya could do it, but that didn't mean anyone else could.
Even the Third Hokage wouldn't be able to handle him.
Despite being the teacher of the Legendary Sannin, the Third Hokage had always been most focused on Orochimaru.
Tsunade relied on her grandmother.
Jiraiya started off as an ordinary person, but after accidentally being reverse-summoned to Mount Myoboku, he gradually grew under the guidance of the toads.
This was an experience that would be difficult for anyone else to replicate.
Coincidentally, Jiraiya's growth path could be applied to Naruto as well.
Naruto before training at Mount Myoboku and Naruto after training there were like two completely different people.
Yan was handling official matters, while Shizune and Izumi huddled together, whispering about private topics.
Naruto stood idly in the office, doing nothing. After a while, he even started dozing off while standing.
*Thud!!!*
Just as Naruto felt like he could fall asleep leaning against the wall, a scroll flew over and hit him squarely.
"Ow! That hurts!"
Rubbing his forehead where he got hit, Naruto grumbled and glared at Yan, as if asking, Why did you throw a scroll at me?
Without even looking up, Yan said,
"You want to receive special training like Sasuke, but you don't even have enough patience? Where did you get the confidence to make such a request?"
"....."
Hearing that, Naruto immediately straightened up and stood properly, but the longer he stood, the more bored he felt.
Two hours later.
By the time Naruto's patience had completely run out and his legs started to ache, Yan finally finished reviewing all the documents.
After putting them away, he signaled Shizune and Izumi that they could go take a break.
Once the two women left, Yan stretched his wrists, leaned back in his chair, and crossed his legs.
"Tell me, what are you really thinking? Why do you want special training?"
"Because Sasuke is getting special training, so I have to as well!!!"
That reasoning probably only made sense to Naruto himself.
"So if Sasuke gets engaged tomorrow and gets a wife, do you want the village to set up a marriage for you too?"
"Huh?!!!"
Naruto was stunned, his voice even turning shaky.
"You're saying… Sasuke is getting engaged? He's getting married?"
"Are you stupid, or do you just not understand human speech?"
Yan let out an amused scoff, then picked up another scroll as if to throw it.
Naruto immediately dodged and shouted while moving,
"Hey! You're the one saying misleading things! You can't blame me for misunderstanding!"
"If you keep talking nonsense, you know what'll happen."
Yan shot a warning glance at Naruto using Kamui before finally putting the scroll back down.
"I personally took Sasuke to find Orochimaru and had him accept Sasuke as a student. Orochimaru became his teacher and trained him.
And you? Who do you think is suitable to train you?
I'm not trying to pick on you, but let's be honest—your academic scores probably don't even reach the passing mark, do they?"
Is Naruto dumb?
Not really. He's just a bit naive, a bit simple-minded… and when it comes to studying, his grades are absolutely terrible.
He couldn't even get the Clone Jutsu right.
Luckily, Jiraiya came up with a way to stop the Nine-Tails' chakra from constantly bothering and influencing Naruto, which finally helped him pull off a decent Clone Jutsu.
As for other ninjutsu, it was just like in the original story—watching him struggle was frustrating. The only thing that had improved a lot was his taijutsu.
"Uh…"
Who in the village would be the right person to train him?
Naruto scratched his head, looking troubled.
"How about sending me to Orochimaru too?"
"...Cough, cough!!"
Send you to Orochimaru?
What, do you think Orochimaru isn't dark enough yet and want to hand over a Tailed Beast for him to experiment on?
Hearing that, Yan was completely stunned.
"Don't even think about it. If you go to Orochimaru, one day you'll wake up tied to an operating table, chopped into pieces, and no one will even know."
"It won't be that bad, right?"
Naruto thought Yan was just messing with him.
If Orochimaru was really that dangerous, then why did they send Sasuke to be his student?
They must be lying to me.
Kids these days… They really don't know fear. Like newborn calves that aren't afraid of tigers.
"Go tell the masked guy at the gate to inform Kakashi to come to my office."
"Oh."
Naruto scratched his head, opened the door, and said to the masked Anbu guard outside:
"Hey, dog-mask guy! The boss inside wants you to tell Kakashi to come to the office."
Anbu ninja: "…"
Kid, do you even know how to talk properly?
Dog-mask guy?
You're the dog! Your whole family's dogs!
