Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Mac was actually starting to understand what had happened and what the relationship between the two well known Supers were. It was painfully obvious that Levi had saved millions of lives if not billions in the blink of an eye without so much as breaking a sweat or batting an eye. Even if Mac didn't dare believe what he had seen, he had no choice, as the head of GCO it was his job to know about things happening on and off their planet and just like anyone else of high standing he had heard of the monstrosity that was the man known as Dark God Levi, the most notorious and hated villain in history. It's just that when he heard about how the man could destroy the entire planet in an instant he had thought it a mere exaggeration. He had also, like many others, thought Rex who was constantly clashing with the man could suppress him if need be. It was a false sense of security that was now crashing down on him as he had witnessed the truth of the villain's power and the two's interactions in front of his very own eyes.

The Dark God had the power to back up his off putting name. He was indeed capable of destroying the world and he could do it before anyone would even know what had happened. Poof! Gone! Just like that... How was a normal person suposed to handle that kind of realization?

Their last line of defense, Rex, actually had the guts to beat that Dark God into a bloody pulp. What gave him such guts anyway? If Levi got angry and lashed out his life would be forfeit and the world would be thrown into a panic because there was nothing stopping the heinous criminal from destroying everything other than his own desire to leave the world as it is. The man he was looking at had the power to completely dominate the whole world but from what Mac was witnessing it was becoming clearer that Levi wasn't someone with such intent.

He would probably be called crazy if he shared his thoughts with anyone and it wasn't like he felt no fear in front of this villain but now he could only see a man who had saved the biggest and most populated city in the world from being utterly annihilated and maybe having their planet stolen and having their entire species wiped out with it in time. Mac was even more shaken by the fact that he had not done it to save his own life because the alien's leader had offered to spare his life alone and even if that hadn't been the case he could see that just as the rumors state Dark God Levi was immortal. He didn't need fear death and he also didn't have to put up with this Hero's violent behavior, so why did he?

Mac wracked his brain to come up with a reason. In the end he had seen the man wipe out the last of a species, taking the lives of who knows how many in order to do so. Mac was no stranger to the ways of war so even if that was certainly the case he couldn't call Levi evil for what he did because it was something that needed to be done, it was just how he did it that left his stomach and mind completely unsettled.

But why was such a guy capable of such feats taking this hero's abuse? Was it that he didn't want to cause a panic in the world that would result from Rex's death? Should such a person as he even care about a reason like that? Mac didn't seem to think so, so then why?

Just then the answer came. The puzzle piece he hadn't been able to find. "Piss off Rex or I'll tell Bunny you were beating up on me again." Levi threatened holding a name over his head like a gelatine.

Rex's face paled as he paused in his abuse of the man before him, releasing his grip on Levi's blood soaked clothes Levi fell to the ground before somehow gracefully standing up as if nothing had happened, like he wasn't covered from head to toe in his own innards.

"You wouldn't..." Rex was just like a scared little kid when it came to Enaris and Levi was prepared to take full advantage of this weakness he had.

"Oh, I would. Surely my future son-in-law should show a little more kindness and respect to his future father-in-law, isn't that right." Levi let out another laugh that sounded a bit sadistic in the ears of eavesdroppers.

"You.... how can you call yourself a man and hid behind a woman? Why don't you just fight me yourself. It's not like your helpless!" He screamed in outrage and frustration but it was to late as a flash of light entered the vicinity and a feminine shout rang out.

"Bastard! What have you done?!?" A voice even angrier than Rex's sent fierce shivers rolling down the hero's spine as he took a look at the mess he had made before looking to the woman in a white mask who could be none other than Enaris.

With pleading eyes that begged for mercy he tried to defend himself, "No it's really not what you th...th...think." Rex threw up his hands in surrender in the presence of the angry masked lady.

"BULL SHIT! Don't fuck with me Rex." The crazy lady, looking like she wanted to go on a rampage, drew closer and closer as she spoke until she was close enough to grab hold of Rex's collar and give it a good yank as he fell to his knees in utter defeat. It really wasn't his day.

"You think I can't tell your handiwork? Who else would dare to lay a hand on master? Who else could get away with their life after doing so?!? Huh???" She screeched.

"I'll kill you right now." She really wasn't messing around... well she never was to be fair but Levi thought it was about time for him to intervene or Rex would really die.

"That's enough Bunny."

Enaris flung the man away with all her strength, though it was only the tactful hero not wanting to make the masked lady any angrier that he allowed his near invulnerable body to be thrown back a few inches. She whipped around to scrutinize the blooded man behind her.

Levi didn't take the initiative to meet her gaze. Honestly speaking he was just as terrified of her when she was like this as the hero was.

"But master!" She objected.

Levi shook his head. "If you want to take your frustrations out on someone you should look for that old hag in the Bureau. He's my future son-in-law after all, haha." Forcing a laugh helped to easy his nerves and stop the cold sweat that was slowly overtaking his body. Why did she have to be so scary?

"But master, you're about the same age as that old hag and she'sonly 35... also I'll only accept master as my lover. How can I be with someone who would strike my master?" Her voice sounding much calmer she turned back towards the kneeling hero, "Just let me send this guy into space, I'll be quick about it. I promise." Her mouth drawing a flat line she looked determined.

Poor Rex was in tears. Maybe calling Enaris was a bad move after all. Of course he knew it was and thats why he was only threatening... She came on her own!!! It always ended up this way, Rex never learned. There was nothing to do about it now. Wait!

"What did u just say you ungrateful girl! Whose the same age as that old hag?! I'm only nineteen and what kind of daughter has those kind of ideas towards their father, you damned brat!" His voice started out as a shout but got lower until it ended in just a bearly audible grumble.

"Does that mean I can send him to space then?" Levi gasped, she really wasn't giving up.

"Hell no! Don't even think about it." He shouted but the sounds were only an overtone for the hero Rex's sobs of heartbreak.

Enaris bent down grabbing a fistful of the hero's hair, pulling it back to make him face her. He complied, looking pleadingly into her eyes with a most pitiful look, but this girl had no sympathy. She stared with hate filled eyes before letting go while complaining, "It's not fair. Master cares for you so much yet you're such an ingrate. How do you think you got to where you are today? Ungrateful! Hateful! Bastard! Just go die somewhere..." her voice faded as she walked off, grabbing Levi's hand the two disappeared in a blinding flash of light. All that was left was a lifeless Rex and a speechless Mac.
