Grandfather Sola arrived at the Bertgau Palace. The palace was empty of monsters. Grandfather and Sola headed to a room. When they arrived, Sola stopped in front of the door, staring at the lock. He opened it, and they both entered.
Sola walked straight to the mirror, stood before it, and whispered:
"What happened to my face? It looks as if I'm human. I'm crying… but I can't see my tears."
Grandfather listened carefully. When he felt she was about to scream, he quickly covered her mouth with his hands.
Sola raised her hand and looked at its reflection in the mirror. It was no longer human—it was like a robot's hand.
Grandfather urged her to calm down. Then he pushed the mirror aside, revealing the monstrous clock behind it. Its hands were frozen in place.
Grandfather: "Step away from the clock, woman. If you keep standing there, its hands may start moving—and that will draw the monsters to us."
Sola: "Grandfather, it has recognized me. It remembered me. In just a few moments, it will begin working… and it will give me choices."
Grandfather: "Then remember those choices for me."
Sola: "Choices like… do I remain in my monstrous state, or do I become a robot? A monster, or a machine?"
Grandfather: "And will you allow me to join your team?"
Sola: "Yes… if you can catch me."
Grandfather: "I have an idea. To confront the monsters, we must choose the final destination that this monstrous clock will reveal."
