Grandfather shut the hut's door firmly and seized the dwarf.
"Are you an invading monster? Do you want to control my beloved ones—my very heart?" he shouted.
Outside, the two children pounded on the door, screaming and crying.
"Grandpa! Open the door! Let us explain what happened!"
But Grandpa didn't answer. At last, exhausted and frightened, the children ran toward the forest, calling out desperately:
"Mom! Mom! Sola, where are you?"
Their voices echoed between the trees.
"Are you a tree monster? Or a grass monster? Or a rock monster?"
"Speak to us, Mom! We miss your voice!"
They stumbled deeper into the forest, still crying out:
"Mom, have you turned into a dwarf? Is your voice trapped inside the hut? Where are you, Mom? How are you?"
Finally, they whispered to each other:
"We won't go back to the hut. We'll become dwarves ourselves. We'll search for the forest dwarves until we find her."
