Chapter 42 - Preparing to leave

Sola gathered her belongings to leave the village. She went to wake up Sayle and Vizilla so they could prepare to leave the house.

Sayle and Vizilla, still half-asleep, said to their mother:

Sayle & Vizilla: Let's sleep a little longer… the sun hasn't even risen yet.

Sola: Get up! Uncle Colin is waiting for us to go with him to the city. Come on — go to the bathroom, wash your faces and hands. I'll be waiting for you in my room to put on your new clothes and comb your hair. I want my uncle, and everyone who sees you in town, to like you.

Outside, Uncle Colin was shouting:

Uncle Colin: We're late! The wolves pulling the cart are getting hungry!

Sola called out to him:

Sola: Pick up that damned cat and give it to them!

When Sayle heard his mother's words, he ran to her.

Sayle: Mom! Have you seen my cat?

Sola: Oh, you still have sympathy for her?

Sayle: Mom, please don't throw her to the wolves! We need her keys. Who will open the door for us when it closes on us?

Sola: Yes, but she's a monster.

Sayle: Mom, I'll take her with me!

Sola: No.

The boy began to cry:

Sayle: Then I won't go with you!

Uncle Colin heard Sayle crying, so he rushed to him, picked him up, and said:

Uncle Colin: Why are you crying, nephew?

Sola: He wants to take that cat with him — I mean, that monster.

Uncle Colin: Hey, you'll take it with you.

Sola: What are you saying? I won't go with you.

Uncle Colin: Sister… that cat left us and she's not even here.

Sola (laughing bitterly): On the contrary — she's hiding. She hears our words and knows everything. When we're about to leave the house, she'll appear.

Uncle Colin: Please, tell him you're coming with us.

Sola: I wouldn't say that… she killed my husband.

Uncle Colin: Please… just nod your head.

Sola shook her head sadly. Uncle Colin then asked Sayle to look at his mother, who finally gave a small nod to him.
