[AGUST]
The familiar scent of wood filled his nose as he stared at the wolf who had just stopped him.
For a moment Agust froze, the denial obvious in his eyes and head. The way those two words had been spoken so sternly, the stench of life and relief and a different kind of familiarity was just not in his head.
Agust knew.
This was him.
This wolf was his brother.
Only Chang Zhu hated it when Agust fought or hurt people.
Only Chang Zhu had the guts to step into a battlefield that Agust was flattening because he too knew that Agust may have been a wild thing, but they were brothers at the end of the day.
Brothers who swore to be there for each other.
A promise that had been broken because of their father.
And now facing each other, Agust was sure he wasn't wrong.
This wolf had the familiarity of home. The sensitivity of a brother who was determined to preach peace and salvation, even if it meant he would lose in the process.
But then again, maybe Agust was wrong.
