Chapter 12 - Chang Ji's Madness

"Okay, okay, I am telling you, Yunjie, you win. This technique's name is Soul Shock, which pushes out your soul for a fixed period of time and renders anyone unable to move," Chang Yi explained, lowering her hands as she revealed the truth.

Chang Yunjie's grin widened into a triumphant smile. "Woah, it was just a soul shock technique, but it's quite different when you apply it. Are you lying to me?" she teased, her eyes sparkling with amusement as she playfully challenged her sister.

Chang Yi shook her head, a playful glint in her eyes. "Nope, no lies here. You just got a taste of my new version Soul Shock technique," she replied, her tone light and teasing as she acknowledged her sister's victory.

With the mystery resolved and tensions eased, Chang Yunjie couldn't help but chuckle at the unexpected turn of events. "Well, I must say, you certainly know how to keep things interesting, Chang Yi," she remarked, her tone filled with admiration for her sister's skills.

Chang Yi grinned in response, a sense of satisfaction evident in her expression. "Just doing my part to keep you on your toes, Yunjie," she replied with a playful wink.

Chang Ji, ensnared in his immobilized position, felt a surge of frustration and anger coursing through him as he shot a venomous glare towards both Chang Yi and Chang Yunjie.

His eyes narrowed with intensity, burning with seething hatred towards his adversaries.

Despite being physically restrained, his mind raced with relentless determination to find a way to gain the upper hand and continue with his sinister agenda.

As he lay there, trapped in his helpless state, Chang Ji's thoughts churned with malicious intent, his mind becoming a battleground for schemes and strategies.

With each passing second, he analyzed the situation, searching for any possible loophole or weakness that he could exploit to his advantage.

Despite the odds stacked against him, he refused to succumb to defeat, his resolve only strengthening as he plotted his next move.

"Should I break this boy's cultivation even though it can break the chains, knowing I wouldn't be able to successfully kill that person within the time limit of the technique and this much brain load will surely kill me?"

"And that fucking Chang Ji is also adding pressure, sometimes even gaining control. How should I handle this?"

He was facing immense pressure from both external and internal sources, his mind racing at an extraordinary speed, contemplating what actions to take, yet finding himself devoid of any viable options.

Before Chang Ji could devise any method to kill Chang Yuan, Chang Xuan approached him and gently placed a finger on his forehead.

Chang Ji furrowed his brow, his expression morphing into a scowl of suspicion. "What are you trying to do, you old man?" he questioned sharply, his tone tinged with a mix of frustration and wariness as he eyed Chang Xuan with narrowed eyes, searching for any hint of deception or ulterior motive in his actions.

Chang Xuan's eyes softened into a pleading, almost puppy-like gaze as he playfully protested being referred to as an old man. "Surely you jest, Chang Ji," he chuckled, attempting to inject a moment of levity into the tense exchange.

"But jokes aside, my dear friend, I assure you, I harbor no ill intentions towards you." His tone grew serious, a solemnity settling over him like a cloak as he met Chang Ji's gaze with unwavering sincerity.

"However, it is imperative that I disclose my intention to initiate a process that will result in the separation of your consciousness from the physical form of the true Chang Ji."

But suddenly Chang Ji's laughter reverberated through the room, catching the attention of everyone present, including Chang Yi and Chang Yunjie. The sound, though silent, carried a weight of amusement that seemed to fill the air.

"Seems like I have underestimated the continent's strongest couple," he remarked with a chuckle, his eyes sparkling mischievously as he leaned back in his chair.

"But fear not, for I still have an idea," he added, his voice laced with a hint of intrigue that piqued the curiosity of those around him.

Chang Xuan's expression suddenly shifted, the color draining from his face as he gazed at Chang Ji with a mixture of apprehension and disbelief.

"Are you... are you trying to do that?" he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper, betraying the hint of fear that gripped him at the prospect of Chang Ji's next move.

Chang Yuan who was beside Chang Feiyan was seeing this scene with one eye but still he can't understand what does that person want to do.

Yes, Chang Yuan knew that Chang Ji wasn't experiencing an inner devil because he had reversed time inside his memory, allowing him to return to the moment when Chang Ji's expression had changed.

Chang Yuan pondered why his aunt would mistake Chang Ji having an inner devil. However, upon closer inspection, he realized that apart from the spatial rift when the incident happened there was nothing else present—no Qi flow, no dark energy, nothing that could justify such an accusation. It left him perplexed and troubled by the misunderstanding.
