Chapter 2 - Chapter I: Rain

Stepping on the water riddled ground With a resounding clack of her heeled boots. What met Rinné was a dreary sight to say the least, further emphasized by the state of the Dilapidated train station itself.

It was almost completely rundown and hardly anything was properly maintained, save for the ticketing booth which is oddly out of place since it looked completely refurbished if not brand new..

for a place to welcome new people entering this curiously isolated city, It was a really shabby place to say the least.

lost in her own thoughts Rinné turned towards the sound of crunching of boots and Heels as several people of various appearances and attires, ranging from old money to paupers, alighted from the other railcars of the steam train, bringing with them their belongings of various sizes and shapes. the girl felt somewhat relieved that she wouldn't be alone in this poorly lit station, waiting for this accursed rain to let up.

hopefully by then she might start making some headway in finding any clues on the current whereabouts of her missing brother.

Standing to one side and out of the way to allow any of her fellow passengers to pass her if they so deemed.

Rinné was careful not to get herself dirty as the large leather case was somewhat damp, she fished out a somewhat crumpled letter, from a haphazardly pocket sewn on it and immediately began recounting its contents for the sake of not missing any details that might be important for her search.

It also served as a good distraction because if she thought about something else other than her desire to look for her brother, she might realize or be forced to acknowledge the fact that she was on her own, in an unfamiliar city full strangers that may or may not take advantage of her ignorance and that wouldn't be good. no. that was far from the word good.

Frankly Rinné didn't fully comprehend the trouble she had gotten herself into nor is she willing to acknowledge her mistakes, all because she was quite desperate to look for her missing brother. she could have ask for someone else to do it for her, a professional like a private eye or something similar but her grief simply clouded her thoughts and judgements.

It only took a small argument with her mother to break what little composure she had and thus it was so.

bare in mind Rinné recently just turned sixteen and despite how mature she acts as opposed to her age, she is still quite prone to bouts of impulsiveness from time to time. her running away to look for her brother could be added to one of many shortsighted stints, if not potentially the most dangerous one.

The young lass was normally quite sharp unless she gets emotional but what can you expect from a naive child so deep into her fantasies that she would board the first train heading to the city where his brother disappeared to?

She was both the apple and the headache of her father. to say the least.

a good example of this is when she vowed that she would commit bloody murder if she couldn't go home, much to the horror of her mother during one of their social gatherings. A lady shouldn't be outspoken but reserve as society dictated much less the only daughter of a family of elitist bankers and pure blooded nobles.

Rinné lost a lot of unwanted suitors due that little tantrum and she was quite glad about the byproduct of her seemingly thoughtless action, though the harsh reprimand once she came home balanced out whatever good that came her way.

continuing her perusal of the contents of the letter Rinné let out disgruntled sigh as she failed to acquire anything new in the letter other than the address of the place her brother temporarily lived in and six vaguely mentioned locations with no discernable addresses. Rinné wanted to do nothing more than scratch her head in frustration but much to her chagrin she couldn't, because she didn't want to ruin her already quite messy bun even further than it is now.

for the current Rinné, she was neither armed with much information to conduct an actual search nor a map that would help traverse the city with some level of confidence.

so Rinné decided to do it the old fashioned way, ask around at the address written in the letter and look for clues on the whereabouts of her brother like how the great Sleuth, Sherlock Holmes from her Favorite book series did.

She drew a lot of inspiration from the fictional character. Rinné wanted to be like her, a Classy yet quite eccentric Beauty from high society, solving cases and mysteries that left even the brightest men in that fictional world stumped and flabbergasted, that they were put in their places by such a brilliant, wonderful woman.

Rinné wished she was as smart and clever as her fictional Idol, even if she just possessed a fraction of the main character's halo, she may have already found her brother with just this letter alone.

Shaking away from her delusional thoughts, Rinné decided to head to the address stated in the letter which was a hotel or was it an Inn? She was not really sure...

It was not very far from the station After questioning a rather unsettling stranger who turned to be quite nice aa oppose to his rather... Gaunt and intimidating form. she found it quite covenient, because lugging around her case would certainly be problematic to say the least, she wasn't all that tall nor is she particularly strong. Hefting around her baggage for short periods of time is fine and all but if she had to carry it all day while traversing the city, she would have easily tuckered herself out.

Rinné isn't all that strong after all due to how small she is. despite her age as a sixteen year old, may I dare say she was barely 5 ft tall in height, compared to her peers, she was basically a munchkin that the girl considered it both a boon and curse but it didn't really matter much in the grand scheme of things.

with the rain still not letting up Rinné hoped it would end soon, not bringing her favorite parasol along was one of the many regrets she felt after her hasty decision to run away to find her brother.

Staring out watching the rain fall beyond the train station that overlook the dreary city shrouded in faint mist.

Recalling the reason why she was even in this rain slicked, dreary city.

"Big Brother. Rinné will do whatever it takes to bring you home..." she muttered as some tears escaped her eyes.
