"Hello, welcome to the Duchy of Evans. This is my daughter, Lucia, but I see you already know each other," said Vanessa calmly.
"Of course, Duchess Evans. My brother and I have come to ask for Miss Lucia's hand in marriage. We know it is somewhat improper and that our mother should be the one to propose the match, but she is currently traveling in another kingdom," spoke Lucas, the eldest of the White brothers.
"Besides, your daughter took our virginity, so she should take responsibility for her actions," Sebastián spoke shamelessly while stroking a lock of his white hair.
Upon hearing his words, Lucia's cheeks flushed a crimson red. What was wrong with that guy? Was it really necessary to talk about that? But above all; despite her advanced age in her previous life, she had never had sexual relations.
Lucia had had a few boyfriends in her former life, but it had never gone beyond kisses and hugs, so hearing what happened stated so honestly and bluntly made her somewhat uncomfortable.
She had died a virgin in her previous life, and seeing how people in this world spoke without shame about intimate relations made her want to bury her head in a hole.
"I understand, I understand. But shouldn't you speak with your family first, instead of coming to ask for my daughter day after day?" asked Lucia's mother, raising an eyebrow.
"We already spoke with our father and told him everything," Lucas said brazenly.
"He also gave us his approval," Lucas said with a smile.
"Well..." Vanessa spoke, perplexed. It seemed there was nothing left to discuss. "Very well, my daughter is willing to marry you."
Lucia, who hadn't spoken since the beginning, had been observing the entire situation. Although she had never considered marriage in her previous life because for her it was just a useless piece of paper, it seemed that for others it was a goal to achieve.
Lucia stared at the two boys who would soon be her husbands with mixed emotions, but she resigned herself to her fate. She noticed the smiles on the two boys' faces and felt a little better; at least her two future husbands were pleasant people. Even if they were a bit shameless, they seemed like good men.
"Then it's decided! We'll get married in one month!" exclaimed Sebastián, leaving both mother and daughter surprised and with their mouths agape.
"Wait, what?!" asked a frightened Lucia.
"A month is too short a time. Can't you wait a little longer?" asked Vanessa.
"In one month, there is an auspicious day for the wedding. But above all, we can't go around without our mark of purity; everyone will know we are no longer pure and will scorn us," Sebastián said with worry.
"Besides, there's the risk that we might be pregnant. We didn't use protection that night, and the risk of pregnancy is very high," Lucas added in response to Vanessa's question.
Lucia was in shock. Only now did she remember that in the world of the novel, it was the men who got pregnant, not the women. She had forgotten because her memory wasn't very good when something didn't interest her much.
She had forgotten it because when she was reading the novel, the story was so interesting that she didn't care whether the one conceiving was a man or a woman, so she dismissed its importance. She only finally remembered because Lucas mentioned it.
Now it seemed the world was turned upside down with Lucas's confession. It appeared there was a possibility she could become a mother at a young age.
While Lucia was lost in her thoughts, her mother Vanessa was also in shock, and she mentally scolded her daughter for being a fool and not using protection for something so important. But what could be done now? There was a possibility she could become a grandmother, and her daughter hadn't even attended the Golden Magic Institute yet.
"Let's not waste any more time. You will get married in one week. I will take care of the paperwork and preparations," spoke an agitated Vanessa. She couldn't allow her future grandchildren to fall into the disgrace of being conceived out of wedlock!
Although, of course, the moment she would have her future grandchildren was still uncertain.
"Mother!" Lucia exclaimed helplessly. She had thought getting married in a month was too soon, but now hearing her mother say she would get married in a week almost gave her a heart attack.
How was she supposed to get on with her life if she married so soon? She wasn't even sixteen yet! It made her want to faint from the shock she was feeling.
"That seems fine to us. By then, our mother will have returned from her trip," Sebastián smiled seductively.
"Then it's settled. I will make the arrangements," smiled Vanessa, satisfied, as she imagined herself caring for her future grandchildren.
