He got up from the sofa and actually forgot he was holding a little girl in his arms, almost dropping her to the ground. Qin Yin's heart almost jumped out of her throat, but luckily Nan Sichen caught the little girl with his swift reflexes.
He awkwardly carried the little girl over, and Qin Yin, still in shock, took the child and held her in her own arms.
"Eat up." She urged Nan Sichen.
Nan Sichen sat down at the dining table, looking at the tray with a green bowl of soup and a bowl of white rice. He blankly asked, "This is?"
"That, it's vegetable and cucumber soup. There are no other dishes left, just make do with it."
"Okay..."
Nan Sichen nodded, he picked up a spoon and took a sip of the soup. It turned out to have no taste; he thought they would at least add some salt, but nothing was added...
"How is it?" Qin Yin asked softly, holding the little girl.
"Passable," Nan Sichen replied with some difficulty.
