Unfortunately, a tactical retreat was easier said than done. As quick as Samir was, the various defense mechanisms and slowing spells proved to be formidable obstacles. Aside from that, he also struggled with a very simple, but detrimental, detail - which was that he had no idea where he was.
The facility was expansive, and there were so many enchantments on the building itself that the interior was even larger than the exterior. Endless hallways and large rooms went on forever, and they all looked the same to an outsider like Samir.
Aero had been a great advantage to him during their entrance, but without the sorcerer to guide him, Samir was left to struggle on his own. The Prince had a pretty solid plan, which was to leap out the first window he could find. Most of the walls were double and even triple fortified against brute force of any kind, so a window was his best bet. However, despite the simplicity of his idea, it proved to be a lot more difficult than he had hoped.
