All the way to the junction of the new road, the road is still lined with peach orchards.
Fu Zhen explained: "There's absolutely no problem with our peaches. In the past, people didn't like to grow them simply because they were exhausting to manage, and the time to sell the fruit was too tight. If they couldn't be sold in a few days, it would result in a loss. The effort and reward were disproportionate."
Peaches are delicious but not easy to store, nor can they withstand long-distance transportation. In the harvest season, to sell them quickly, their prices had to be lowered, resulting in prices so low that no money could be made. Yan Fei knew this all along.
"But it's different now. Our Agaricus bisporus and vegetables have gained notoriety, plus there's a lot of foot traffic your way. Just relying on the roadside peach orchards, we won't have to worry about selling peaches in the future. And when the flowers bloom, it will attract people to visit, achieving multiple benefits."
