Du You's skill advancement had nothing to do with his Magic Power; it was actually his advanced Spiritual Perception skill that had progressed.
This skill was advanced by Du You because he was fed up with the special environment of this world. His perception was suppressed and couldn't be improved, which made him vulnerable to stealth attacks.
Thus, after the advancement, he gained a new ability: Law Perception.
Law Perception: Enhances perception of the Laws, increasing the speed of Law comprehension. Through the Laws, one's perception of everything in the surroundings comes from the heart; the stronger the comprehension of one's own Laws, the greater the range and intensity of one's perception. (Level 61)
This skill was a pleasant surprise for Du You because it could actually speed up his comprehension of the Laws. It's a powerful auxiliary skill, and with it, his future advancement would be much faster.
