The phone line was dead, cries for help went unanswered, the safety passage wouldn't open, all escape routes were sealed, and the entire movie theater was in chaos. Yet, apart from the initial middle-aged man, no one else dared to approach the theater's main gate, because the eerie-smiling audience on the screen were heading towards the gate.
Qian Cangyi stood alone in the corner, his sight moving between the theater and the screen. Occasionally, some audience members stood in his position, but there was no physical conflict, just an overlap. In this film, he was merely a viewer, with no way to interfere with the film itself, even if he knew the escape method in advance, he couldn't affect the actors.
