With this thought, Kadi relaxed.
Firstly, night had fallen, and Kadi could no longer see Grey Eagle Peak clearly, even with his excellent vision. Secondly, he was exhausted from traveling; even if he were excited, his energy couldn't keep up. Lastly, he had come to fully recognize his own limitations, which was, in itself, a significant realization.
Once relaxed, Kadi slowly returned to normal, and hunger crept up on him as stealthily as the night.
RUMBLE RUMBLE. Kadi's stomach made strange noises. This didn't affect Igor at all, who was so entranced he was seeing stars. Igor continued to appear intoxicated, his mouth open, his gaze unwavering, and a foolishly expectant look on his face.
