The West Inner Court is adjacent to the Dragon Head Plain, which originates from the Fan River and spans sixty miles. This shows how vast and long these mountains and rivers are. The Emperor doesn't seem worried about any troops attacking from that direction, so there are no walls on the northern side of the Forbidden City.

A few years ago, the Emperor had some leeway and had people build a palace along the Wei River to the east of the West Inner Court. However, during the construction, his daughter got married and needed a dowry, and coincidentally, his sons also needed brides, requiring betrothal gifts.
