"Did madam say anything?" Max Davies asked the servant.
The servant replied, "No, she just greeted everyone, didn't even enter the house, maybe she was just passing by."
Max Davies nodded, asked the servant to carry on, sat on the couch, lit a cigarette, and puffed clouds of smoke.
He leaned against the sofa back, his head tilted back, exposing his entire neck, where his pronounced Adam's apple exuded a certain male allure. After smoking an entire cigarette, he sat upright, pulled out his phone from his pocket, and checked Lynette Moreland's call records, the last call still being the night before they went to the registration office.
He didn't call her, so she truly wouldn't contact him at all.
Staring at the number on the phone for a moment, Max Davies sighed resignedly, his slender index finger tapping the screen, dialing the number he could recite backwards.
Lynette Moreland saw the call from Max Davies in her hand and sprang up.
