James Harris left the hospital room and received a call from his partner, asking whether he had secured the startup funds for the real estate project. The partner warned him harshly that if he didn't get the funds soon, their cooperation would be canceled.
This attitude, along with Mrs. Harris and Viola Harris standing by watching indifferently, already frustrated him. Hearing the partner's words only fueled his anger, and he shouted, "Cancel it if you must! You keep pushing me to get funds, yet do nothing yourself. I've long suspected you might be faking a project to scam me."
The other party was stunned for a moment and retorted angrily, "You'll regret this!"
After hanging up, James grew even more agitated. Finn Wilson had been coming to the hospital frequently to curry favor with his grandmother, and although just a word from her would ensure Finn wouldn't refuse, she hadn't spoken up for him, and neither had Viola Harris.
