"Oh, what's wrong with Thomas? Even after drinking milk, he's still unhappy." Madam Moreland held Thomas, her fingers gently trying to smooth out the little creases between his brows.
Thomas pouted, his small mouth curving downward, about to cry.
"Thomas, be good, don't cry…" Madam Moreland hurriedly bounced him up and down to soothe him, but the little one still burst into tears with a loud "wah."
Amelia Clarke was lowering her head, watching Years By Years, but suddenly heard Thomas crying. She looked up with a pained expression.
"Let me hold him," Owen Moreland offered.
"You're a grown man, what do you know about calming a child? Stop making trouble," Madam Moreland said, continuing to bounce Thomas, who only cried louder and harder.
Owen Moreland spoke again, reaching out his hands toward Madam Moreland, "Let me give it a try."
Madam Moreland, seeing her great-grandson crying so hard he couldn't catch his breath, felt helpless and reluctantly handed Thomas over.
