The street lamp flickered on as Victoria Sheldon pressed hard on the gas pedal.
How could he be back? Didn't he agree to stay in the United Kingdom and never return?
Back home, Victoria gulped down a large glass of ice water, but it couldn't cool the pounding anxiety in her chest.
When her phone rang, she flung the glass in her hand across the room.
The servant rushed over after hearing the sound of breaking glass, but Victoria barked coldly, "What are you rushing in here for? Scared me half to death!"
The servant, utterly baffled, kept her head down and didn't dare to argue.
Only after returning to her room, Victoria looked at her phone screen—a string of unfamiliar numbers.
Hesitating for a few moments, she answered, "Ms. Sheldon, I didn't expect you to still use this number. Such a sentimental person."
Hearing the familiar voice, Victoria's expression turned utterly grim.
"You were perfectly fine in the United Kingdom. What are you back here for?"
