It was typical story of how a weak individual rising to become the strongest in the world.
The setting of the novel was set in a futuristic world filled with mana.
As goes for the main protagonist of it, he was also followed the nearly half of steps of your typical MC, the righteous person who fights against evil but sometimes he becomes cold enough that he ready to sacrifice small for greater good.
At the beginning, this novel was one of the best things you have ever read. It had great storyline and imaginative and vast world. Readers were initially drawn in by the incredible descriptions and well-crafted characters.
However, as the plot progressed it started to lose its charm. It made nearly all its readers disappointed.
The plotline became bland. It lost its momentum.
The readership of this novel dropped significantly. But there were still some hopeful people who believed this novel would rise again and I was one of them.
The reason behind this dull plotline was simple. Everything in the novel started to become too obvious, the character development became stagnant, the story felt stuck like it's in a loop, tone became inconsistent and many more things.
Plus, one of the main reasons was that the protagonist started to became too overpowered for no reason. It's like he started getting power-ups left and right, without any real reason.
The way the protagonist kept getting stronger so fast made the story less exciting and more like a third-grade novel plot.
This novel used to mean so much to me I used to wait for the whole day just read it's one chapter. It was really sad to see this novel decline.
But seriously even if this novel meant so much to me, I hate to admit that I never once wished that I wanted to transmigrated in to this.
Well for the backstory of this novel. It was simple and somewhat cliché.
On the day of 1 January 2030, everything changed in the world.
The enormous and ominous rifts, that was like it was just out of fiction started to appear all over the earth and was not simply that. From these rift's creatures, demon like creatures started to come from them. Now this was the beginning of the cataclysmic event.
As these demons started to poured from the rifts, they unleashed the chaos upon our world.
Cities were thrown in to the chaos as the humanity found itself facing an existential level threat which was never seen before.
But unlike which we have read in novels, where the people harness mana or some kind abilities, in this world they didn't harness.
As there was no mana or ability to save them, they relied on their resources and modern weaponry like nuclear power to fight back against the invading demons.
The whole world fought with all their might to save the world, their home.
After a long brutal and unending war, humanity emerged victorious. They managed to stop this so called demon invasion. The world was finally saved. But at the end, one can't say it was not their complete victory as they lost nearly half of the population in this war.
And just when it seemed that the humans had successfully defeated these demonic creatures and every rift was closed off. A wave of fear spread through the world. A massive rift, a type of rift that humanity never saw, split opened in the sky
From this rift, three colossal demons emerged, each one excluding an aura of pure evil that sent shivers down the spines of those who bore witness to their arrival.
A scary silence followed after their arrival.
The demon which was in front of other two demon, spoke in an ominous tone "Current - E. Potential – S+." It showed a sinister, a disturbing smile that sent a chill through the spines of all who heard it.
The meaning of these cryptic words remained mystery but whatever the meaning was behind them it was not good for their world.
It started to speak again after the brief pause, " We will return soon, you insignificant beings. For now, enjoy your fleeting victory over defeating our reconnaissance. In our generosity, we shall give you a merciful gift." As it spoke, it stretched his arm towards the sky. A bright orb appeared floating over his hand.
It waved his hand and released the orb, sending it towards the sky. Then the orb erupted, several lights spiralled outwards like a big firecracker but covering the whole sky above.
As this shiny moment was happening, the demon spoke again " Now, finally you insects can use the mana which was lain dormant for so long."
With their final statement, those three demons returned back to the rift, disappearing from sight as the portal sealed itself.
As those gigantic demons vanished into the rift. Suddenly, fierce and heavy wind started flow across the world.
The sky started turn into dark and a wave storms and earthquakes started happened across the planet causing unimaginable amount of destruction
As these disasters were happening, the continents started to shift and merge themselves as one, merging themselves making a massive supercontinent.
This catastrophe on the planet caused more damage than the demons had done.
The world that humanity knew started to reshape itself before their eyes.
As this was settled only merely 5 percent of the total population had succeeded in surviving this catastrophe.
Yet as that demon told, world was now filled with the mana.
This mana became the new source of power in a world that was completely changed, it gave the survivors the chance to rebuild their civilization and bring order in this unorder world now. It also became strength to fight against the unpredictable future ahead.
After the several decades of catastrophic events, a new chapter started for them.
It started as the several extraterrestrial races such as elves, dwarves, orcs and many more came to the Earth seeking refuge.
Just like our world, their world was also attacked and devoured by those shitty ass demons.
The interaction between the elves and dwarves were peaceful, they nurtured friendly relationship.
With time, they shared their knowledge about mana as humanity give them the separate land then land human were living . That's how the three nations were formed.
However, as orcs, werewolves, vampires and some other species doesn't was the peaceful approach. They thought human as insignificant insects that were not worth having, an inferior species. They all wanted this whole planet for themselves only. They all formed an alliance together known as Scar.
As the Scar began to gain influence and power, the tension between elves, dwarves and human escalated.
Scar had sight eyes on the human territories, launching and unending attacks against humanity. But as the Scar was not threatening towards dwarves and elves, they refrained from participating in this war. Remaining neutral in this war between Scar and Human.
Dur to this reason the relationship between human and them didn't remain as good as they were before.
As the years turned into centuries, the war between Scar and the humans continued without end.
So, this was the backstory for the novel, Hero of the Ruined World
I still have one question in mind, "Why, of all novels, did I have to land in one filled with war and monsters?"
