William Wilson looked at her with his eyes lowered, a half-smile playing on his lips.
There was a brief silence in the air surrounding them.
Laura Jones could even see her own dazed reflection in William's dark eyes.
"I heard..."
William spoke, breaking the silence between them first.
"Heard... heard what?"
Laura felt something was off with herself lately; every time she got a bit closer to William, her heart would start racing uncontrollably.
She had never been in a relationship, but she wrote about them proficiently in novels, yet in reality, she was clueless about romance.
In fact, she was very oblivious.
Even though a racing heart is a common reaction in love, she never thought of it in that way.
Just felt that something was strange.
But she honestly thought this out-of-control heartbeat didn't feel bad.
William didn't answer her question, instead, he asked a different one:
"Laura, do you think I'm handsome?"
"Handsome."
