Sophia Taylor hesitated for a moment and declined, "No, it wouldn't be right for me to disturb you like that."
"What disturbance? It's just one more person at the table. If you were to cook by yourself, it'd be far more troublesome."
In the end, Sophia reluctantly agreed, feeling slightly embarrassed.
On the way to the resettlement site, they had to pass by the road that was currently under construction. Sophia instinctively paused in her steps, her gaze falling onto the road.
"What's wrong?"
Elly Campbell noticed her standing still and staring blankly at the road, and asked curiously.
"Oh, it's nothing. I was just thinking that when this mountain road is completed, it'll be so much easier for people here to travel outside. Maybe their living conditions will improve as well."
She turned to Elly, her expression filled with emotion. "If it weren't for you, these children might never have had the opportunity to leave the mountains."
Elly understood what Sophia meant.
