Olivia Parker set down the menu, now covered in spittle and smudges courtesy of the man opposite her. She pinched a corner of it and handed it to the servant, before reaching out to offer a tissue to Mr. Perfect.
"You seem a little... worked up?"
"No, no… uh, that's not what I meant… I… I'm just so excited to meet you!" The man stared across the table at her lightly powdered face, his voice trembling. "Miss Parker, you're even more beautiful in person than in your photos!"
For a blind-date dinner costing upwards of twenty thousand, the so-called Mr. Perfect was now caught between a rock and a hard place. All he could think was that he'd pull out all the stops to secure a future with this woman—after all, he couldn't just let that twenty grand go to waste.
Across the table, his companion, Evil Little Cold, couldn't hold back his laughter any longer.
