Nathan Leafcastle smiled at her and nodded gently.
"I know, you go back to sleep first."
Sally Dalton nodded, went back to the bedroom, took a shower, and prepared to sleep, while Nathan Leafcastle sat by the computer, bringing up the news to check.
Seeing all that negative news about Irene Spencer, his brows furrowed even more into a deep line.
"Kris Cooper, I won't admit defeat!"

Early the next morning, Sally Dalton got up early and didn't see Nathan Leafcastle by her side. Puzzled, she went to the study, only to see the man sitting at the desk, writing something on paper.
Her gaze swept past his rumpled old shirt, and Sally Dalton couldn't help but frown.
"Nathan, you... you didn't sleep?"
Upon hearing her voice, Nathan Leafcastle immediately put away the paper and pen in his hand.
"Oh, I... just got up."
