At this point, she clenched her teeth again, only to cry out in pain anew.
Anabel Wilton frowned. "Was it... Vera Wave who did it?"
"Who else could it be?"
Irene Spencer felt an indignant urge to grit her teeth, but the movement only worsened her pain, so she quickly gave up.
Everything happened so suddenly. She was completely bewildered and hadn't expected that her own fans would mistake her for Vera.
"How did she know you were there?"
"She must have sneaked a look at the text message Kris Cooper sent me," Irene Spencer said.
Anabel Wilton frowned at the sight of Irene's battered face. She scowled deeper. "You were really careless this time. This whole thing has blown up so massively—it's not going to be easy to fix."
"Do you think I wanted this?" Irene Spencer glared at her unhappily. Her eyes trailed to the dress Anabel Wilton was wearing, and they narrowed. "You bought this dress too?"
