On the screen, a somewhat familiar number appeared. She thought for a moment and remembered it was Nathan Leafcastle's phone number.
Calling so late, could it be news about the old house?
The snapshot from earlier flashed before her eyes, and Vera Wave reached out to answer the call.
"Hello?"
Nathan Leafcastle's voice was deep on the phone, "What time do you get off work tomorrow? I'll pick you up. I've found some clues about the old house and want to discuss them with you."
Hearing there were clues about the old house, Vera felt a surge of joy, "There's no need to trouble you to pick me up. Just tell me the location, and I'll come find you."
"Well... let's see how it goes tomorrow, and we'll get in touch again."
"Okay, Ya—" She instinctively wanted to address him as Mr. Leafcastle, but quickly changed her tone, "Brother Nathan, thank you."
Hearing her more affectionate address, the corners of Nathan Leafcastle's lips lifted as well.
