Vera Wave looked speechless. "Don't tell me you don't eat beef. I saw you eat steak last time."
Kris Cooper raised an eyebrow mildly. "Steak is pan-fried; this is boiled. Are they the same?"
Kris Cooper understood Vera Wave; he knew she was proud deep down. This was the only way he could get her to eat the meat without feeling like she owed him anything.
He's so hard to please. If I had known, I would have simply ordered a regular bowl without meat and saved a few bucks.
Vera Wave pouted, picking the meat out of his bowl piece by piece. "And the greens? You're not eating those either?"
Kris Cooper leisurely watched the greens on her chopsticks. "Not eating them!"
She had no choice but to transfer the greens into her own bowl as well, then pushed the bowl, which now contained only broth and noodles, back to him. She then served him as if he were a lord, handing him a pair of disposable chopsticks.
"These are the only chopsticks available here, so you'll just have to make do!"
