Vera took two steps to the side and smiled at the young nurse who looked over in surprise.
"I don't know him!"
Kris Cooper stretched out his long arm and pulled her to his side, steering her away from a patient walking against her.
"Honey, be careful walking now that you're pregnant."
Honey, pregnant?!
How could this guy be so shameless!
The young nurse led them into a consulting room, looking a bit awkwardly at Vera and Kris Cooper.
"If you're pregnant, then we can't do this brain CT."
Vera hurried to speak, "Don't listen to his nonsense. We..."
"We're just preparing for pregnancy," Kris Cooper tilted his chin, "We can check everything that needs checking. At worst, we can delay it by a few months."
"Okay," the nurse smiled and sat at the computer to help Vera with the forms.
Vera stood up angrily, "Who wants to have a baby with you?!"
