"Didn't you see yesterday's financial news? Kris Cooper, the new successor to Ashton Real Estate, a major client that even our bank president couldn't secure despite bending over backwards."
"No wonder!"
The bank president personally poured tea for the two of them. "Mr. Cooper, will you please sit and wait?"
"No need." Kris Cooper glanced at his watch. "It's getting late, and my Vera is hungry. We'll come back another day!"
With that, he reached out and pulled Vera up from the sofa.
"Let's go, honey, I'll take you to dinner!"
"Okay!" The young woman sweetly agreed, hugging his arm. She didn't forget to make a face at Robert Taylor, who was kneeling on the floor and looking up at her. "Manager Taylor, take your time filling those out. And when you're done, prepare a few financial plans for me. I'll need them by tomorrow morning!"
Of course, she was just saying that; she had no real intention of depositing money in his bank to boost his performance figures.
