Vera Wave lifted her face and looked past Kris Cooper beside her, only to see Grandma Wave on the bed by the door turning her face toward her.
Grandma?!
She looked at Kris Cooper beside her in puzzlement, then at the ward — there were two beds in the ward, one of which was empty, with no other patients.
He... he's here to see Grandma?!
"Vera!"
Grandma Wave's voice sounded.
"Hey!" Vera hurried over, happily holding her aged hand, "How are you?"
"Our Vera... the prettiest!" Grandma ignored her question, merely smiled and spoke, "Been pretty since she was little, now she's even prettier."
"Grandma." Vera smiled shyly, "How is it? Is the wound still hurting?"
"Vera." Grandma's face showed a hint of sadness, "I want to go home..."
"Once you get well, we'll go home!"
"Where's your dad? Why hasn't he come?"
Dad?!
Vera was startled.
Dad has already passed away, why is Grandma still asking about him?
