The man threatening Nia Mitchell clearly hadn't expected her to struggle so fiercely without a second thought.
Unexpectedly, she managed to break free from his grip.
Nia Mitchell lunged forward, shoving aside the two people closest to her.
"Dad! Dad!"
Nia quickly crouched down. In just a few short minutes, her father's face was already bruised, and who knew what other injuries he had sustained on his body.
"Don't be scared."
Her father lifted his head. Seeing the enraged faces of their assailants, he quickly pulled Nia into his embrace and rolled over, shielding her with his own body.
In an instant, Nia was pinned tightly beneath her father.
"Keep hitting him!"
"No! Dad!"
Nia struggled desperately, but she couldn't overcome her father's strength.
With her vision blurred by tears, she broke down completely. Powerless, Nia lay there, wailing uncontrollably, her face a mask of terror.
This disaster was her fault; all of this was happening because of her.
