Grandpa Davidson was bewildered by Owen Lewis, and in turn, he directed his anger towards Annie.
"I have no idea what's going on."
Annie looked at the box on the ground, hesitated for a moment, and then reached out to pick it up.
"Don't touch it!"
Grandpa Davidson immediately roared, successfully stopping Annie's next move.
"Why?"
Annie was visibly impatient. The older she got, the more things she had to deal with.
"You are not to touch that boy's stuff."
With that, Grandpa Davidson crouched down to pick up the small box himself. He opened it with a frown and found, to his surprise, a diamond ring.
It sparkled brilliantly. Although the rain had gradually subsided, in the dim air, this diamond ring was still strikingly eye-catching.
