Maxwell Peary stepped forward, taking two steps at a time to reach the bedside. He reached out to remove her coat, intending to make her sleep more comfortably.
However, he paused when he felt her body temperature.
She's burning up!
Only then did he notice her flushed cheeks. She clearly had a fever.
Damn it!
He cursed his own jinxing mouth; whatever he worried about always seemed to come true.
"Nia, Nia..." Maxwell Peary sat on the bed, gently placed her head on his lap, and softly called out to her.
Nia Mitchell furrowed her brows. She felt weak all over, her throat was sore, and she felt cold.
"Mmm..." She moved uncomfortably, but her eyes remained closed.
"Nia, you have a fever. Wake up." While calling her, he took out his phone to call his personal doctor.
"Come to the Royal Bay Villa." He ended the call swiftly, casually placing his phone on the bedside table.
"Nia?"
