When Nia Mitchell's name was called again, she looked up at Maxwell Peary.
As their gazes met, she felt a pang of guilt, even though she hadn't done anything wrong.
"It was him! He kept pestering me, asking for my name and my phone number." Nia Mitchell swiftly pointed a finger at Benjamin Jones, her face a mask of grievance.
Maxwell Peary turned to look at Benjamin Jones, awaiting an explanation.
But after a long pause, Benjamin Jones remained silent.
What Nia Mitchell said was true, wasn't it? He *had* been pestering her; how else could he have gotten her phone number? It was just a common tactic for pursuing a girl. Why is Young Master Peary looking at me so strangely?
"What's your name?" Maxwell Peary asked, staring at Benjamin Jones. He searched his memory but couldn't recall ever seeing him before.
Benjamin Jones was stunned. Young Master Peary was actually asking for his name!
