Nia Mitchell was exasperated. Seriously? This is your brilliant idea?
She couldn't help but wonder. How could Evelyn even suggest something like that?
"What kind of rotten idea is this?" Nia asked.
"How is this a rotten idea? My brother Maxwell might actually love it," Evelyn retorted.
As the saying goes, a sister knows her brother best. If Maxwell Peary heard Evelyn's words right now, he would undoubtedly be nodding enthusiastically. Absolutely! That would be a future perk for me!
"That *is* a rotten idea," Nia countered. "What if I buy him a gift later? Wouldn't that cheer him up a bit?"
Nia Mitchell's dark eyes sparkled. This method is much better. It's simple, easy to do, and not embarrassing.
"My brother doesn't like people giving him things, and he doesn't lack anything," Evelyn said. She mused silently, Besides, if Nia buys him something, isn't she still using his money? Then again, a thought struck her: Nia is special to Maxwell.
