She looked at Kris Shaw anxiously, not knowing why she felt so nervous.
She didn't understand why she was so tense.
Is she afraid he'll tell Ryan Gregory everything?
Or is she scared he won't continue helping her?
Or is she afraid he'll misunderstand her deeply, thinking she's a bad woman?
At that moment, Lucy Greene didn't know her true feelings.
Kris Shaw heard her voice, turned to look at her, and his eyes were filled with disappointment, confusion, and something she'd never seen before—like he suddenly felt she was unfamiliar, even didn't recognize her.
He furrowed his brows and, without beating around the bush, directly asked, "Did you do this?"
"I don't understand what you're talking about."
Lucy's heart filled with panic, and she didn't dare to meet his gaze.
But to him, her reaction was undoubtedly an acknowledgment.
