Anger tinged Julia Bluen's brow, and her small hand clenched into a fist. Her almond-shaped eyes glared at Nicholas Coldwell, as if she would throw a punch if he didn't step aside.
"Sister-in-law."
A deep voice called out, just in time to stop her impending outburst.
"Sister-in-law, what are you doing here?"
James Horne appeared behind Nicholas and, with a nudge of his elbow, sent Nicholas staggering aside; the force of the bump nearly made him fall. James then stood before Julia, his handsome face, so similar to Glades Horne's, held a stern, cold expression. His deep eyes were unfathomable but now glittered with a cold light. He exuded an intense chill, as if he had just stepped out of a refrigerator.
He had happened to pass by and inadvertently saw Nicholas blocking Julia's way, so he immediately came to intervene.
